58 years ago today (April 5, 1948), My father appeared on the cover of LIFE Magazine as a Brooklyn Doger rookie attending spring training in Vero Beach, Florida. Can you find him?
This morning - he was the answer to his hometown radio KSIG 1450 AM Crowley's "Mystery Quiz:" Who is the only Crowley resident ever to appear on the cover of LIFE Magazine ?
Thanks to host Barry Primeaux for honoring Dad in this way.
Morning: AOC - preparing for Friday taping of the "Joe Paris" talk show & editing of Renaissance Festival raw footage from last weekend.
Late morning: Visit to my 88-year old Hospice Patient. He's fabulous - great attitude. No matter what i suggest to him - he responds: "Let's do it !" Makes me cry, and ashamed that I ever let negative thoughts rule, even for a moment.
Early afternoon: Lunch with one of my all-time favorite girlfriends (ok, ok - she's a woman and she's a friend - what do i call her? I like "girlfriend"). We will laugh and share a lunch with a side order each. Probably something having to do with chicken. We will flirt and criticize each other a la Don Rickles, then laugh some more. I adore her, and cannot imagine my life without girlfriends such as her.
Mid-afternoon - a couple of hours given to my sister Suzanne to do with me what she will. And boy will she ! Suzanne is a task master of the first order. But I adore HER as well (and always have) - and will do her bidding for no other reason than that.
LATE AFTERNOON : Storytelling at River Ranch
